With the 2019 general election right on our doorstep, attention has turned to the historic city of Canterbury, one of the “marginal seats” which in 2017 narrowly elected its first Labour MP in almost a century.
As you can gather, I am Chinese, but I might not be entirely Chinese, judging by the fact that Hong Kong is desperately trying to get away from the doom of being part of China, the line between being a Chinese and a Hong Konger has never been clearer.
But that country is where I spent the first 12 years of my life, where all my childhood memories are and where all my family still lives. So deep down, no matter how twisted this country is, it is still my country.
All students sitting the NCTJ Essential Media Law exam in January please pick up from Nicola's office a copy of Sample Paper 3. This is for you to work through during the Christmas break. First year/MA/YIJ TV assessment deadline EXTENDED
To mitigate the impact of me having been on strike please now submit your TV assessment on the Wednesday of the week we come back after Christmas, ie 15 January. The new deadline is 5pm that day. Use the extra time well though by emailing me cues/low res timelines/scripts and I pass on helpful feedback. My aim is to help everyone, so whatever you are struggling with, whether it is access, interviewees dropping out or how to write and structure your script, please knock on my door or email.
